Focus and Scope

Interdisciplinary Perspectives: A Student Research Journal is a student-run research journal at CSU-Pueblo that focuses on outstanding student work from the humanities, behavioral, social, natural, and health and applied sciences. Our primary focus is original student scholarly work. Typical submissions include Honors theses, original compositions and empirical research conducted by undergraduate or Master’s level students.  We welcome outstanding student submissions from any program.

Peer Review Process

Although faculty may appear only as coauthors, we require that all students have their work pre-reviewed by a faculty advisor prior to submission.  All submissions are processed through blind review by one editorial board member and at least one discipline knowledgeable student and one relevant faculty member. At the Editor’s discretion, we may request names of possible reviewers. Please keep in mind that your submission must not have been published elsewhere, nor should it be under submission in whole or in part with any other journal or publication outlet. Submission implies that all authors have read and agree to its content, order of authors, and that any human or animal research has received formal institutional vetting and approval. Any Method section must state the name of the approving committee.

Publication Frequency

This journal operates on an rolling publication model, where individual articles are published as soon as they are ready.

The annual Call for Papers is issued in late spring, to coincide with the CSU-Pueblo Student Symposium, but the journal accepts submissions year-round.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to acknowledge, promote, and disseminate high-quality student research that shapes discourse and fosters understanding.

Volumes and Sections

The journal publishes one volume per year with multiple sections and special editions appearing as needed.  We also will consider suggestions for special dedicated editions such as a collection of papers from a local student conference.  The Editorial Board Committee makes all final decisions on such requests.
