Abstract

International events today put into light the role of rhetoric and the impact on the development of government policies. One of the most prevalent international focuses on policies are those that deal with refugees. This paper analyzes the United States and Germany’s refugee policy over the last decade to analyze the trends and potential future for refugee policy.

Eliana Marie Taylor, Colorado State University Pueblo

Eliana Taylor is a senior at Colorado State University Pueblo due to graduate in May 2018 with a major in in Political Science and minors in Communication and Rhetoric, English and Honors. Eliana has completed research on undergraduate research, experiential education and most recently focused her honors thesis on the effect of rhetoric on refugee policy in the United States and Germany. Eliana plans to move forward with refugee research as she continues her education through the pursuit of a masters degree in International Relations.
