Six Lessons to Healthier Eating in Middle Schools Students: Investigating a Change in Knowledge and Behavior

Abstract

This article is about six lessons taught at Ronecelli STEM middle school to improve their knowledge in nutrition and improve their nutrition behaviors score. The six lessons included nutrition, assisting my eating habits, reading food labels, healthy snacks, eating healthier, eating healthier at fast-food restaurants, and assisting physical activity. These lessons were taught twice a week in a PowerPoint format and included activities for the street. Before the lesson students took a pretest and after lessons took a post-test to evaluate the change. The results showed no real big change when it came to the nutrition test but showed a change in their behavior. With the results of the student there was able to make suggestions to make a difference in the results and also implementing the nutrition in the middle schools.
